His performance during this time also gave him the frontrunner status to replace CEO Márcio Cypriano when his term was up.
In 2009 Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi was promoted to the CEO position during a difficult economic time brought about by the Great Recession. He was successful in leading Bradesco through this time and helped them refocus on organic growth and excellent customer service until the major acquisition of HSBC.
