Dick entered the family business, Amway, even when he was a child. Dick DeVos served as the CEO of Amway from 1993 to 2002.

Dick DeVos also became a part owner of Orlando Magic in 2005. He also restructured Amway into Alticor which aimed at expediting profitability and minimizing the possible loss of the company. In addition to his business roles, Dick is a leader in an array of community initiatives. Together with his wife Betsy, they founded the Dick and Betsy DeVos Family Foundation which offers charity to low-income families and schools.
